CHICAGO – DePaul is expected to host a multi-team event in November during Thanksgiving week as part of the 2021-2022 non-conference program. The Head Coach Tony stubblefield announced today that the Blue Demons will host three games at Wintrust Arena between Nov. 20 and 28 against Eastern Michigan, Northern Kentucky and Western Illinois.
The four teams will compete in the Blue Demon Classic at campus venues between November 18-28, and each participating team will announce their own schedule for the event. DePaul opens the Blue Demon Classic on Saturday, November 20 against Western Illinois before hosting northern Kentucky on Friday, November 26. The final of the event is set for Sunday, November 28 when Eastern Michigan visits Wintrust Arena.
At Rosemont Horizon, the program hosted regular season tournaments that included the Crush Classic in 1982, the Old Style Classic in 1988 and 1990, and the First Chicago Christmas Classic in 1989 and 1990.
The remainder of the non-conference program will be announced as it is completed. Previously, it was announced that DePaul would open the season on Nov. 10 against Coppin State before hosting Central Michigan and Rutgers. Game times, TV and radio outlets for all games will be announced once they are finalized.
Game Four: Western Illinois – Saturday November 20 – Blue Demon Classic – Wintrust Arena
- The series is tied at 1-1 … the two teams meet for the second consecutive season.
- Western Illinois won the first game, 72-69, on December 9, 1989 … DePaul won a 91-72 victory on December 23, 2020 at Wintrust Arena.
- Western Illinois is located in Macomb, Illinois, and is a member of the Summit League.
- The Leathernecks were 7-15 overall in 2020-21 and 5-9 in Summit League games.
- Head coach Rob Jeter will be in his second season at Western Illinois in 2021-22.
Game 5: Northern Kentucky – Friday November 26 – Blue Demon Classic – Wintrust Arena
- First meeting between the programs.
- Northern Kentucky is located in Highland Heights, Ky., And is a member of the Horizon League.
- The Norse posted a 14-11 overall record last season, including an 11-7 mark in the Horizon League.
- Head Coach Darrin Horn is entering his third season in Northern Kentucky.
Game Six: Eastern Michigan – Sunday November 28 – Blue Demon Classic – Wintrust Arena
- DePaul and Eastern Michigan meet for the first time since the 1979-80 season … the Blue Demons are 4-0 against the Eagles.
- The last meeting was a 57-55 decision in Eastern Michigan on December 19, 1979.
- Eastern Michigan is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan and is a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
- The Eagles went 6-12 overall last season and 3-11 in the MAC.
- Head coach Stan Heath is in his first season leading the Eastern Michigan program in 2021-22.

- Fans and supporters interested in joining as new season ticket holders for the return of DePaul Basketball can now make season ticket deposits of $ 25 per seat for the 2021- Men’s and Women’s basketball seasons. 2022.
